My boyfriend is a KMIT waiting for validation at Chipotle. Since he's started working there (less than a year ago), he's repeatedly been instructed to run errands off of the clock, as well as fixing things in the store. This happens multiple times per week, adding up to at least 5-10 hours every pay period.

This is obviously very illegal. He's not the only one, but the others that participate in this practice cut him down by asking him why he doesn't "care" as much as the people who allow this to go on with no question. His managers are complacent in this and encourage it.

I read about a class action lawsuit filed in Minnesota but can't find out much about it. Right now, this is taking a huge toll on my boyfriend's mental health and our personal life. He constantly feels guilty for not giving into coworker's demands that he show a better attitude (by participating in an illegal activity, hah!). They have scheduled his validation for Kitchen Manager multiple times and he's been "stood up" by the person meant to come give him his promotion at least 4 times.

All the while, they expect him to perform full KM duties while being paid a non-manager wage...

We plan on finding a way to take legal action and would like to see other people in the region consider doing the same. We know it's not just him. This is wage theft, pure and simple.
