I started to work there a month ago. The first day was all about getting to know the place and trying to understand the people that don't speak English well. My misery starts the next day when I'll prepare the chicken and steak with two Honduran employees, I don't mind working with any race but I mind working with a person who is constantly speaking Spanish, a language I don't know, and they keep talking there language in front of me with the manager and I don't know what they are saying the trend continues for a month and then I started to reply in Arabic and they would go crazy :D. Because they told me they were looking for quality, I started to create ways like removing the blood from the stake and chicken batches before marinating it but all I get is "your too slow" Even the dishes they want me to finish it fast so they don't get to pay me an extra hour a day. Of course residues and bacteria will get caught in the dishes because they are not cleaned well, when they clean it, and luckily no one was killed but it will happen if the trend continues and the chicken and beef will be contaminated as well. When you are prepping rice you have to put two cups of cilantro, but in the evening hours they only put one because they don't want to cut more cilantro. How is this quality cooking? if you don't get ingredients right. When you are working everyone gets in your way and do not leave you space to work and expect you to finish early even if you started late because of them. every one starts to correct you like if you put two bags of Odobo marinade for the steak someone will come and tell you to put three then another one will come and tell you its too spicy put two and so on they don't go with the original ingredients sheet, which is not in the restaurant!! The cashier was the most helpful person and the funny thing is he knows all the rules and the procedures more than any manager or restaurateur, who stay inside talking on their phones all day. Yesterday I went to work and get my checks, I clocked in and went to ask for the checks but the GM of the store was busy talking with the regional manager and told me to wash the dishes. While doing the dishes I talked with a fellow employee who is Muslim and was fasting, he wanted to work until 8:30 to get his meal and break his fast. But they refused a week before and told him to go away at 7 and take his food with him and he can't wait until 8:30, like they are gonna kick him out. finally, one of the employees, the accountant!!! told me to get my checks then told me I wanna talk with you. It started with a question "do you like working?" and I answered that I would if everyone stops getting in my way. She continued that Im slow and this is unacceptable and she met with the manager and they decided she will fire me and I told her "its about time!!!" I said goodbye to all the employees I respected and then before I went the freakin manager wanted to say goodbye and told me you are in the US and you will find a lot of jobs!!! I wish told him I wish it happens to him that he gets unemployed like me because with his level of education he will get nothing and he knows it. Chipotle is for the people who would like to work as machines and not spend time to think or innovate, it is not also for people who want to work independently with no interference.
