I started working at Chipotle in February. I was very excited to work there because it is extremely close to my apartment and because of the food discount. Well, in the month that i worked there I managed to burn myself on the tortilla press resulting in what will now be a permanent scar on my wrist. Watched a total of 2 short training videos...on things I had already learned (who really needs to watch a video on how to wash your hands...seriously?). And I found out that the 'development journals' are bullshit. The manager liked me i think, and she had nothing but good things to write in my journal and to tell me. The apprentice manager however...I wasn't loud enough, wasn't fast enough, and wasn't upbeat enough... How the hell can i be more upbeat when I'm asking every single customer 'how are you?' and smiling? That's not enough? Also yay for telling me how quick i should be at making chips in the morning and then giving me no opportunity to show that i can do it. I had a meeting with the apprentice manager and she told me all the things i needed to improve. Then i was given minimal hours, no opening shifts (which i needed to prove my chip making prowess). And then the schedule wasn't up for the next week. So i called to find out when i should come in. Was told to come in the morning. Expecting to work the opening shift and finally show off my new chip making plan I got ready and came in almost ten minutes early. Got pulled aside by the apprentice manager and fired. I'm more pissed off about the than I can even explain in this short rant. Fuck Chipotle.
Loved the restaurant, and food, now i've worked there and have been fired...
